Newsletter

Hi guys,

I finished the newsletter. Take some time to check it out!

Hey Team!

I just compelted the poster for our rainforest lesson! There were a few details surrounding the poster. I talked to Elaine about how we could break the class into groups and have each group take a classification of animals to learn about. Then they could do a reflective journal entry on what they had learned. Everyone's doing a super job! Keep up the good work!

Hey guys!

I just finished my lesson plan in LiveText. It's called, Introducing: The Salamander. I found a really cute book about Salamanders called "The Salamander Room." It has vibrant, colorful pictures and talks about what a salamander eats and it's habitat. I decided I would read the book to the class and then have them do a small activity about what they learned. The lesson came out really well I think. It seems like everyone is doing a great job! Keep it up!

Hi! My lesson plan is coming along. I found a book called The Big Nap: Chet Gecko Mystery #4 that goes along with my Gecko themed lesson. I am now working to make my resources more detailed :) Keep up the good work lizard colleagues!

Hope everyone finds something great to do!

Jamie.

Lesson plan

Hello Group!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am planning on doing my lesson plan on animals in the rainforest. To tie this in with our project I am going to focus a part of my lesson plan on lizards found in the rainforest. I decided to do to the general species of lizards that lived in the rainforest because it allows for more student activities. I hope everyone else is having a lot of luck with their lesson plans.

Kayla :)

Good morning!

Happy Friday! How is everyone? The sites that I have evaluated are both about caring for a class pet specifically a lizard:) They are as follows: http://www.ehow.com/how_2303525_keep-lizard-pet.html and http://www.helium.com/items/1574335-how-to-take-care-of-lizards. Looking over my teammates sites, everyones looks very useful for our collaborative project. GREAT WORK!

Hey All!
I had great success in finding two websites I thought would help us make progress on our project! Jamie, the concept map looks great!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpzk141PlZs&NR=1 is the first website I found. This is a video all about creating a habitat suitable for our classroom pet.

www.proteacher.org/a/95362_A_super_classroom_pet.html is te second site I used. This is particularly helpful in getting the perspective of someone who has had a classroom gecko first hand.

Hope all is well!

Web Evaluations

Hey Fellow Group Members!

I hope everyone is having a lot of success finding websites that are going to help us with our project! I found two that would be really beneficial the first is a video on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMLP92xlaEY&feature=PlayList=2FOB8B0642B2EA20&playnext from=PL&index=48. I also found another one relating to the health of our potential class pet. It gives great descriptions on what to look for to see if your pet might be in distress or is in anyway sick. The website is http://www.kids4research.org/caring_for_classroom_pets/pain_distress.pdf. These seem like great websites to help us with our project. I have recieved Jamie's website evaluations as well as Elaine's. They both look terrific. Hopefully everyone else is having just as much success.

Kayla :)
